Your visual essay will be on the same topic as your Op-Ed and take on the same stance/claim as well. However, for your visual essay, you will be targeting a more specific audience of your own choosing. You will be creating a visual essay in a genre that you believe will most effectively persuade your audience of your claims.

Before you complete your visual essay, you will write a 1-2 page audience strategy explaining who your targeted audience is, and why you chose the visuals that you did. This essay could be comprised of images, videos, drawings, sculptures, and so-forth.

At the end of the project you will also hand in a 1-2 page reflection on your essay, reflecting on the process of a visual essay vs. a written essay, and what you felt was effective or not effective in your essay.
